We thank Mr James Poh Ching Ping for his feedback on the new Circle Line wayfinding signs.
As Mr Poh has pointed out, the Circle Line’s continuous loop service is unique in that it does not have terminal stations, unlike all our other services. The "clockwise" and "anticlockwise" directional signs were therefore introduced along with the opening of Circle Line Stage 6 to help commuters navigate the loop service. They complement existing wayfinding information including line maps, digital displays and announcements which help commuters identify the correct train and plan their journeys.
We recognise that some commuters may need time to familiarise themselves with the new wayfinding information. Since the initial rollout of preview signage in May 2026 at four Circle Line stations, we have been refining the signage based on commuter feedback. Following the introduction of new signage across the Circle Line in July 2026, the digital displays were updated to give greater prominence to the names of the upcoming interchange stations or the terminating station in the direction of travel. We have also introduced enlarged colour-coded station codes as directional markers to make it easier for commuters to confirm their direction of travel at a glance. Commuters can also confirm their route by checking the route diagram on the platform or above the platform screen doors, which will show the next station.
We are reviewing other suggestions to improve the overall wayfinding experience. We will continue to take in commuter feedback and make further improvements where needed, so that the Circle Line's wayfinding can be made more intuitive and easier to use for all commuters.
