The Land Transport Authority (LTA) conducted a Focus Group Discussion session today as part of a year-long public engagement under the Land Transport Master Plan (LTMP) refresh. The session was hosted by Minister of State for Transport, and Culture, Community and Youth Mr Baey Yam Keng. Participants from diverse backgrounds including elderly residents, families with caregiving needs, working adults, and youths had registered their interest through the LTMP refresh webpage.
2. Since the launch of the public consultation exercise on 15 November 2025, LTA has received over 3,500 responses from members of the public on their aspirations for public transport. Some emerging themes include improved connectivity, greater comfort, more considerate commuter behaviour, and a more inclusive public transport system.
3. Building on these insights, the session brought together around 40 participants to share their views and experiences to shape a transport system that reflects the evolving needs and aspirations of Singaporeans and one take everyone can be proud of.
4. Participants engaged in small group discussions to share their daily travel choices, commuting experiences as well as the factors that influence these decisions. They explored and discussed the different lifestyle needs, commuting experience and preferences of different groups of commuters. Participants also discussed their individual priorities and collective aspirations for Singapore's transport future.
5. Four more engagement sessions under this first series of engagements will be held from now until February 2026. In the year ahead, LTA will conduct additional series of focus group discussions alongside other outreach activities in schools, with industry partners, communities and stakeholders, including talks, competitions and dialogues on key transport plans and initiatives under the LTMP refresh.
6. Members of the public can register their interest for upcoming engagements and continue sharing their transport aspirations through the refreshed LTMP webpage at https://go.gov.sg/ltmp-refresh.
