what is the Tuas West Extension?
The Tuas West Extension (TWE) will open on 18 June 2017, extending the East-West Line from the existing Joo Koon station with four new stations – Gul Circle, Tuas Crescent, Tuas West Road and Tuas Link.
The TWE is expected to benefit 100,000 commuters daily and improve MRT connectivity in the Tuas area.

- Catch a sneak preview of the TWE stations at the TWE Open House on 16 June 2017, where all four stations will be opened to public from 12pm to 8pm. You can ride the trains along the TWE for free, participate in exciting games and win prizes! Free shuttle buses will be available at Joo Koon and Pioneer MRT stations. More information to come in the next few weeks.
How will commuters benefit from the extension?
Getting to and around the Tuas area will be much quicker, thanks to the direct rail connection provided by the TWE. Commuters working in the Jurong and Tuas industrial estates can look forward to significant time savings. For example, a journey from Ang Mo Kio to Tuas West can be cut by about 35 minutes, i.e. down from about 100 minutes currently to 65 minutes!
TUAS VIADUCT (PART OF THE TUAS WEST EXTENSION PROJECT)
A 4.8km long road viaduct opened on 18 February 2017, enhancing transport connectivity to businesses in Tuas with more travel options.
