Maintaining Our Roads & Facilities

Whether filling potholes, replacing sections of the road, or upgrading footpaths and bus shelters, we put the same level of detail and care in our work to ensure everyone’s safety.

What are road facilities?

Road facilities include carriageways, footpaths, public streetlights, bus shelters, signages, pedestrian overhead bridges and other structures.

What is LTA’s road maintenance programme?

We check and maintain public roads and road facilities regularly to keep them safe for motorists, commuters and pedestrians.

  • Expressways – daily
  • Major roads – every 2 weeks
  • Minor roads – once every 2 months

Maintenance deals with all aspects of the physical conditions of the road network, including the carriageways, footpaths, streetlights, bus shelters, signages, pedestrian overhead bridges and other structures.

Once defects are spotted, they are fixed promptly.

What other maintenance work does LTA do?

We also perform road resurfacing, cleaning of bus shelters and traffic signs, painting of railings, and repair of damaged or worn-down facilities.

If you find any potholes or illegal advertisements, you can report them to 1800-CALL LTA (1800-2255582) or send your message through our Online Feedback. We aim to fix potholes within 24 hours of notification.
