North-South Line Extension

What is the North-South Line Extension?

The North-South Line extension is a 1-km long extension of the existing North-South Line that runs southwards after the Marina Bay station into the Marina South area, and adding the Marina South Pier station to the line. 

Construction of the station started in 2009 and the station is opened for passenger service on 23 November 2014.

How will commuters benefit from the extension?

Whether it’s for business or pleasure, the Marina South Pier station will serve Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore, Marina South Pier, as well as future developments in the Marina Bay Downtown area. This station will benefit commuters, in particular, cruise passengers travelling to and from the cruise centre.
