What is the Sengkang LRT?
Opened in 2003, the Sengkang LRT is the second LRT line in Singapore and connects the residents of Sengkang with the Town Centre, North-East Line and the Sengkang Bus Terminal.
Though planned with 14 stations, only 12 are in operation currently.

Trains on the Sengkang LRT ply 2 loops around the residential districts and suburbs of Sengkang. Sengkang LRT station connects commuters with the North-East Line.

As more developments are coming up in the area, the Sengkang LRT will be upgraded to a two-car system to increase its capacity. 16 more train-cars will also be added into the Sengkang Punggol LRT network, increasing the train fleet by about 40%. Commuters can look forward to a more comfortable journey when the upgrading and modification works are completed by 2016.
