Two taxis fitted with compressed natural gas (CNG) cylinders recently caught fire. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is concerned and is currently working with relevant agencies and stakeholders to investigate the cause of the fires. Preliminary investigations by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) have indicated that both fires resulted from the leakage of CNG within the vehicles, which was then ignited by the lighting of cigarettes. To facilitate road works, the slip road from Bedok South Avenue 1 to ECP (Changi) will be closed to traffic on Thursday, 25 May 2017 and Friday, 26 May 2017 from 01:00 a.m to 05:00 a.m daily.
